Creating your inspired work is an act of peace

I believe in humanity. Yes, we are currently acting out some of the darkest aspects of our being. Some of it is ugly. Some is diabolical. Some is loathsome. Much of it discouraging. Yet, I still believe in humanity.

Any which way you look, wars are being waged. Whether the battles are happening on the ground or in the political arena, violence continues to be used as a tool to dominate and oppress. There is even the recent threat of nuclear war. Yet, I still believe in humanity.

I perceive acts of war to be the result of a gross misunderstanding of who we truly are and of what we are capable of creating as human beings.

War is an expression of powerlessness

War is based upon the false assumption that our potentials are limited and our resources are finite, thus we must fight each other for what we want in life. The underlying misbelief is that we are incapable of creating what we want for ourselves, so we must usurp it from another. It is an attempt to create from a place of lack. These battles express in forms such as:

  • Marching into another’s territory and forcing them out
  • Attempting to assimilate another into our belief systems without their consent
  • Regulating how another acts for the purpose of conformity or control
  • Misappropriating another’s property, be it tangible or intangible
  • Degrading another’s way of life

The list could go on. However, even in the face of all these egregious acts, I still believe in humanity. That’s because I believe in our capacity as conscious creative beings.

Our creative capacity knows no bounds

We humans have an extraordinary creative tool – our imaginations. However, I’m not convinced we utilize it to its fullest extent or with as much intention as we could. Not yet, anyway. While each of us has the ability to imagine anything and everything, the challenge is that we tend to become fixated on “reality”, and therefore limit ourselves to perceive only that what which we’ve already created. This misperception is what underlies our power struggles. We forget to open ourselves to receiving the new potentials we have yet to realize.

When we allow ourselves to enter into this imaginative state, we lose interest in war. Instead, we become fascinated with what’s possible. We discover that we have no need to fight for resources because we can source our own energy. To direct our energy toward realizing that which wants to exist in the world through us is the ultimate creative act.

When we claim our creative capacity, we become an active participant in the expansion of the universe itself. Within ourselves, we sense the correctness of our own existence, and with this comes peace.

Peace is an understanding of our true power

Peace is to know that each of us has access to unlimited resources and that we have the agency to direct our energy into realizing any potential in the physical world. The overarching awareness is that it is our very nature to create from a state of sovereignty – not just to serve our own interests, mind you, but in service to the whole. These generative acts may involve:

  • Giving our gifts in service to others
  • Collaborating with others to make best use of our complementary strengths
  • Honouring our own value and each others’
  • Allowing for freedom of creative expression
  • Building new systems and structures that support the new paradigm
  • Choosing to make our unique contribution to humanity
  • Birthing that which didn’t previously exist
  • Envisioning a new world (or worlds) for us all

The list could go on. It is through these acts that we demonstrate our capacity as creative beings. When we create from peace within, we are inspired to create that which is harmonious for all.

Creating your inspired work is an act of peace

When we choose to create from an aligned, truthful place within ourselves, then what we create in the world is also an act of peace. There is no need to take anything from another or do we need to manipulate another to “get our way”. Inspiration is the indiciator that we are creating as an expression of pure consciousness.

Our inspired work is guided by three fundamental principles – our purpose, our vision, and our mission. Each of them is a creative act unto itself:

Embodying your purpose is the act of creating the person you want to be.

Realizing your vision is the act of creating the world you want to live in.

Living your mission is the act of creating the experiences you want to contribute.

When we know who we are and what we are truly capable of – that we can imagine and create any potential sourced with our own energy – there is no need for war.

Our world could do with a little more peace right now. To create your inspired work is an act of faith in your own humanity – and it just might be the thing we all need to keep believing.
